My network places would not connect to anything. Services crashing everywhere. I got my computer back by deleting the mentioned values from the registry. Every time I changed them back to 0, I would reboot and they would be 1 again. You should delete this blog post. You're not getting rave reviews Don’t do it!

Once I powered off and on again, Windows was unbootable and I had to re-install from scratch.
