Don't do it!

My network places would not connect to anything.
Services crashing everywhere.
I got my computer back by deleting the mentioned values from the registry.
Every time I changed them back to 0, I would reboot and they would be 1 again.

You should delete this blog post.
You're not getting rave reviews

I don't get it. I am using this thing on two pcs for more than a year and it works great. Maybe this problem comes with SP2-3 or something.

Great Tweak. My PC now boots to the Windows XP Splash screen then a black screen.

I selected Last Known Good on boot and reverted.

Folks, be very careful before trying this.

Thumbs Down.

As zambuka said, IOPageLockLimit does nothing, to be more clear, itonly does stuff on Windows 2000 no service pack, and Windows NT 4. It is useless on WinXP, Windows 2000 with any service pack, and later.

LargeSystemCache only helps with servers, it will make LESS RAM available to applications.

DisablePagingExecute will only help on systems with a lot of RAM, but even then, not much as the system won't likely be paging it if it has that much RAM available, as it will make Windows use more RAM, thus giving other applications less RAM to work with.

I tried this and it worked fine until I started up Quake III, at which point the system hung and I couldn't even reboot. Once I powered off and on again, Windows was unbootable and I had to re-install from scratch.

Killed my VGA drivers, but reinstalling them took care of it. Boots a little slower but feels quicker once the system is done booting.
